Rioja

Spain’s most important and popular region for table wines, Rioja has a climate with both maritime and continental influences. There are three sub-regions: Rioja Alta in the west, Rioja Baja in the east, and of course Rioja Alavesa in the north-central sector the home of Bosque De La Vega. Aging is an important element here, and wines are classified according to the time spent in wood. Viura, Malvasia and Garnacha Blanca are the primary white grapes and Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano constitute the famous red blends.

The Vinyard

Bosque & De La Vega Wine & Distillery was built in 2005, with over 87,000 square feet situated on 50 acres in Rioja Alavesa, Spain. The winery has over 18,000 square feet of underground cellars dug into the rocks beneath the main building they are interconnected to form a real underground labyrinth to store bottled wine.

The winery has a capacity of production and bottling 10 million bottles of wine per year. With a fleet of Bordeaux American oak barrels 6,500 units in the aging cellars and 500,000 bottles.

The stainless steel tanks of Bosque De La Vega for storing and fermenting  are  the ideal solution for handling our large volumes.

BOSQUE DE LA VEGA

Opened in 2005 in la Guardia, Rioja Alavesa, becoming the "cellar of copyright". Surrounded by several plots of ancient vines, the grapes are harvested by hand and then  moved to stainless steel tanks and new oak barrels, to maximize quality in the fermentation process of the wine making

VINEYARDS

The average age of our vineyards is 40 years for tempranillos. We have the capability to store 5 million kilos of grapes in our temperature control stainless steel tanks to better control the process.

Grapes

Tempranillo, arguably the most famous of Spain's native grapes, is a vibrant, aromatic varietal that offers spicy, red fruit aromas and flavors. The grape's name translates to "little early one," a moniker that references fruit's early ripening tendency-- Tempranillo thrives even with a short growing season. Spanish red wine grape variety. It produces dark, aromatic, fruity wines, with soft tannins which become very smooth in the barrel.

Our vineyard produces and uses several varieties of grapes. Our main grape that we use to make our reserve and non reserve wines is Tempranillo.

We also use Shirah grapes, for our red wines, Merlot, Cabernet and Graciano wines. The Viura grapes is used for our white wines Chadornnay, Sauvinon blanc, Verdejo and Moscatel wine.
